Raising Awareness in the Media

One of our goals is to help raise awareness about cystic fibrosis.  We have been blessed with a couple opportunities to raise awareness about cystic fibrosis as we share our story about Leah through some pretty exciting means.

In May 2012, Leah was featured in an article about cystic fibrosis in the Herald-News newspaper!  We were surprised, but very excited, when the paper contacted us for an interview.  One of our Leah's Front Line walkers had contacted the author as she was raising support towards her Great Strides efforts, meanwhile, the author's son was just talking with her about another family whose boy has cystic fibrosis.  All that to say... next thing you know, we were given the amazing opportunity to be featured in the newspaper to help raise more awareness for cystic fibrosis!  If you haven't gotten the chance to read the article, you can read it here.

Extra! Extra! Hear All About It!

In February 2013, a producer for a local radio station contacted us through the CFF to do a radio interview on cystic fibrosis and our involvement with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.   He had previously done a featured news story on CFF in Cleveland, Ohio.  After learning about how little known CF is and the challenges with research and drug development because CF doesn't affect nearly as many people as cancer or some other conditions, he thought it would be good to bring awareness to some other stations for which he produces programming.  The interview aired on Saturday, February 9th on WJCH, 91.9 FM at 12:00 AM, 4:00 AM, 6:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 4:00 PM.
