- GREAT STRIDES 2012
In May, Leah's Front Line came out in force as we participated in the GREAT STRIDES walk at three different walk sites: Joliet, Avon-Connecticut, and Charleston-South Carolina. This day continues to bless our socks off as people surround us and show their support by walking with us! Come rain or shine... (and so far, it's been rainy each year) but it doesn't matter... everyone there brings sunshine to our day!
- CLEAN YOUR CLOSET FOR A CURE
In July, we hosted our second annual Clean Your Closet for a Cure Garage Sale to raise money for cystic fibrosis. This year, we tried something a little different. We didn't put prices on any of the items, but rather asked people to donate what they thought was a fair price. For the most part, people responded well and often responded generously. A BIG shout out to my family and the Mom's Club of Wheaton who supported our sale by donating items, volunteering, and hosting our sale. - NASCAR Race Volunteers
In August, we had the opportunity to recruit volunteers to "work" the NASCAR races for the CFF. The money we earned from working on race day was donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation! This was a fun and great way for people to help us raise money by volunteering their time. As a added bonus, the volunteers were given passes for themselves and their families to join them in the grandstands for the race after their work was done. - All together, our team raised $14,000 nationally in 2012!!
