Leah's Front Line - 2013

  • KICK-OFF EVENT
    This year, we hosted a Kick-Off Event to start off our 2013 year.  We enjoyed an evening filled with delicious food, fantastic raffles, and learning about exciting developments in CF research!  We had a great turn-out and raised $1088 that night!  
  • GREAT STRIDES 2013
    In May, Leah's Front Line once again made a strong showing at the GREAT STRIDES walk.  We were super excited to see Leah's school get involved as Troy Heritage Trail put together a team to walk with us, lead by her fabulous Kindergarten teacher.  Every year, this day is such a blessing to us!  Although the rain loomed ready to fall, it held off this year.  Thank you to all who walked with us and helped us raise money, and to all of our donors!  Together we are getting closer to that cure!   

  • CLEAN YOUR CLOSET FOR A CURE
    The week following the walk, we hosted our third annual Clean Your Closet for a Cure Garage Sale to raise money for cystic fibrosis.  This year, we took over a whole cul-de-sac as the families of Kennicott Ct. opened up their garages and driveways to host our sale.  It was a couple of crazy busy days, but a great success as we raised a little over $1500 at our sale.  A BIG shout out to all those who helped by donating items, volunteering, and hosting our sale!  Thank You!

  • FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT
    Leah's school hosted a family movie night fundraiser at the end of the school year.  All the proceeds (and generous donations) were donated to the CFF in honor of Leah!  The final total raised was $1006!  So thankful to see this kind of support from Leah's school community!  A extra shout out to a couple of girls from school who made hair bows and flower pens to sell to help raise money for Leah! 

  • LEMONS FOR LEAH
    Leah's sister Hannah wanted to do something to help raise money for Leah.  Hannah, her sisters, and a couple of friends had a lemonade stand called Lemons for Leah.  They passed out flyers in the neighborhood, baked goods, made friendship bracelets, and sold delicious lemonade.  Even though it was a stormy day, they raised $222.65 to help bring many sunny days to people with CF!!  Way to go, girls!  So proud of you!  

  • NASCAR Race Volunteers
    This is the second year we had the opportunity to "work" different events at the Chicagoland Speedway.  We recruited volunteers to work three different events over the summer and the money they earned was donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation!  This year, we also invited other local teams to get involved.  Together, we raised $1736.50 by working at the racetrack! 

  • All together, our team raised $15,000 nationally in 2013!!
